Working with Craft Interface

TL1 Craft Interface is a GUI-based Manager-side application that allows Administrators and Craft Operators to test their TL1 devices or any TL1-simulated environments very easily. The tool primarily allows you to establish a connection with a TL1 device, exchange messages and thereby manage the device.

 

To Start the TL1 Craft Interface,

 

  1. Run the script or batch file TL1CraftInterface from <TL1_Home>/bin directory.

  2. Alternatively, you can also start the Craft Interface application from the Launcher by running the script/batch TL1Tools available under <TL1_Home>.

Note: You can also start the Craft Interface tool in the Applet mode. To work with the Applet mode, please read TL1 Craft Interface Applet section.

 

To Open a Connection,

 

  1. Select Open Session from the Operations menu. The Open Session dialog shows up.

  2. Select the Transport Protocol and fill the appropriate transport parameters. Rest of the properties are optional and can be chosen if needed.

  3. Click the Open Session button to open the connection.

 

To Send Commands to the device,

 

  1. After opening a connection, type the command you wish to send to the device in the Input Message field.

  2. Click Enter to send this command. You can also use the Send Message button from the Operations menu or toolbar.

  3. After successful transmission, you can receive the responses in the right panel text area. If the responses are not received, you will see a dialog popping up saying Message Timeout.

Note: Instead of typing the commands manually, you can also chose to load commands through a file. Please read the Loading Files in TL1 Craft Interface section.
